Thirty Years of Dirtying Ears

In 2002, The Residents celebrated their 30th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, I had the idea to pool the resources of several fans/musicians and collaborate over the internet. In some ways the plan failed, and in others it succeeded. At the very least, it has been a learning experience.

The result is a 16-minute EP spanning a range of styles and moods. Copies were delivered to the Residents on 5 November 2002. Thanks to The Residents and Cryptic Corporation for allowing these mp3 downloads. Wheee!

The collaborators fall into two categories, the Regulars and the Irregulars. The Regulars are those who appear on the EP. The Irregulars, through one reason or another, were not able to make it onto the disc, but were certainly a part of the overall team (L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry).
